Water Storage Upgrade

Purchased two 300 gallon food grade water totes in an effort to make watering the farm a less costly, more eco-friendly endeavor. Like many other rain barrels, these were listed on craigslist. The main difference is that this guy told us exactly what was in them. The two on my property previously had chicken feed protein.

Now the plan is to convert one of them in to a rain barrel and connect it to one of the gutter down spouts. The other will sit back by the shed to water the orchard. I’ll need to pick up a water transfer pump.

Update: From what I can tell, the 300 gallon IBC water tote needs a 2” female buttress to 2” male NPT adapter to connect it to standard PVC. I already have the 2” x 3/4” threaded bushings and 2” slip adapter to step it down to a regular garden hose.
