Processing.js
John Resig created ported Processing over to Javascript. While I’m still on my JS kick, I plan on spending some time tinkering with that script. It won’t have any benefit towards Textpattern, xPattern or any of the other projects I’m involved with, but the “cool” factor is too great for this.
I hope JS games pop up because of this. I’m not really a fan of flash.
Update: I posted the story slashdot and it’s been acceted. I’ve got 100% story acceptance rate! ;)

Did Pixelcore Studio Steal From Textpattern?
Short answer: No.
Slightly longer answer: It turned out to be a misunderstanding.
As stated many times and in various locations on my blog, this is a blog and all entries are snapshots. Everything I post it based upon information I have at the time of posting. I will make updates, but I don’t pull entries. I’m not a fan of censorship.
My original post is below.
It’s really sad when a company blatantly takes the work of an open source project and claims it as their own1. The theft committed by Pixelcore Studio against Textpattern was that of communities hard work. It’s easy to see that the key players, Jennifer Mattice and Dimitri Kokkinos realize that they’ve been found out and are quickly covering up their tracks by removing screenshots to “Pixelpattern CMS” and other parts of their site.
I’ll keep their names in the back of my mind whenever I provide help on the forum. If it’s either of them, I’ll probably just shun the thread.
Update (quoted from textpattern.com)
It turns out that we have a combination of two misunderstandings:1. money was paid for a site’s design two years ago, not a content management system or extended support
2. a misunderstanding of what the proper way to go about branding isI consider this fully resolved. If you have any questions, please contact me privately.

Textpattern Plugin Compression
I have made updates to a few of my plugins and a significant change to my workflow. There are new versions of mem_form and mem_self_register that mainly address 4.0.6 changes.
From this point forward, all of my plugins will be posted in compressed format by default. If your site does not support GZIP, then send me an email and I will respond with an uncompressed version. If demand becomes high, I will post compressed and uncompressed versions of all my plugins.

xPattern - A Community Driven Textpattern Fork
After way too long, a few members of the Textpattern community have decided to set off down our own path and make the improvements to Textpattern that users have been wanting for years. Enter xPattern. It is a fork of the Textpattern 4.0 development branch that is hosted on LaunchPad.
xPattern started as a way for Textpattern community members to give back and help speed along the development progress. The devs flat out rejected our requests and we have broken away. The Textpattern forum posts mentioning the xPattern discussions have either been locked or deleted. Censorship has been a common practice on the Textpattern forums for the past few years. The most recent victim was the thread xPattern – Your Questions Answered. I posted it over to the xPattern forum shortly before it was deleted. It answers many questions raised by Textpattern community members and was created to serve as a centralized discussion thread to prevent spill over.
Edit:
Since Peter over at Txpq.com felt the need to use this post as the basis for a personal attack against me. I feel I should add a little bit more to the picture. For starters, this is a blog that show a snapshot of me and what I’m feeling. (Even the plugins I release are snapshots.) If you find something I write to be offensive, incorrect or really interested, it will not change how I felt at the time of writing. If you like it, cool. If you don’t, too bad. You always have the option of not returning.
IRC logs from the other day. It is easy to think a thread is deleted when it is silently moved from one area of the forum to another. It was originally in “Latest Happenings”.
Manfre: i didn’t see it there yesterday
other person: you think she brought it back after deleting it in a fit of rage?
Manfre: not sure
Manfre: it’s possible that I overlooked it
On the bright side, textpattern now has an equivalent to FOX news. I guess that means it is moving up in the world.
If only there were some examples (2 3 4) of how censorship is abused on the textpattern forums. BTW, silencing discussion is censorship. For obvious reasons, I can’t link to deleted threads.

Textpattern Generic HTTP Form Plugin
This plugin will allow other plugin developers to easily add HTTP form processing to their plugin. The plugin help provides information for developers and users. All of my future plugins that have any type of public form processing will rely upon mem_form. This plugin was developed by a client who requested ZCR style form processing for mem_moderation. Updates to the moderation plugins and mem_self_register will be posted shortly.
Feature List:
- Required fields
- Min and Max field length requirements
- nonce support
- Server-side variable pass through
- Spam filter support
- Callbacks
- Regex pattern validation
