Community Driven Textpattern
I have been working on a series of plugins that enable the creation of community driven sites with Textpattern. The first two pieces were mem_self_register, which allows users to register themselves for accounts, and igner’s ign_password_protect, which enables sites to have site content require a user account. The last piece is what I have been working for a large chunk of the summer is a way for users to submit various types of content so that it can be centrally moderated. There was limited moderation support for articles in the base Textpattern installation, but you are forced to allow users to access the Textpattern admin interface (with reduced permissions). This would be fine, if it were possible to access the admin interface without having a user account and if the layout of the article form could be altered to match the web site.
The plugin that satisfies this last piece, mem_moderation is about ready to be beta tested, but it first needs basic documentation. This plugin places a moderation queue that will list all items as they are submitted. Moderators will have the ability to accept, reject, or modify the data of the submitted content. Users are able to view a list of their pending submissions, and make changes until has been approved.
The real usefulness of this plugin is that other plugins define what data will be placed in the moderation queue and how it will be displayed. I have created a few plugins that allow for articles, images, and links to be submitted in to the queue for moderation. Each of these plugins will be expose tags that will create the submission form on the public interface. The position and layout of these forms is controlled completely by the site owner—true freedom from the admin interface.
This plugin is currently installed on one launched site, SmashKick.com. This web site is currently using a small subset of the features and only allows for submitting articles. Feel free to register and check out the public side of this plugin. I just ask that if you are going to submit test content to get the full experience, then put “textpattern test” in the notes to moderator field.

Greetings from sakthi!
I’m trying to use your mem_self_register. The problem is I want to add more fields (like Date of birth) to the user form. I suspect I’ve make these changes to Add new author form.
Can you please advise me what are the places to change to add more fields to my memer register form.
Thanks in advance,
Sakthi
